Mitchells Plain’s Faeez Jacobs is on the cusp of making history tonight at EFC 137 in Johannesburg.
Jacobs, the bantamweight champion, looks to add the featherweight crown to his collection when he takes on Chadrack Yemba. A win for Jacobs would make him one of a few EFC fighters to hold titles in two divisions. Dricus du Plessis is among the fighters to have achieved the feat.
It would also serve as another strong message to the UFC bosses as Jacobs continues his pursuit of signing with the premier MMA promotion.
Three more Capetonians in action
Jacobs will be joined on the card by three other Capetonians.
Luke Michael will be in the co-main event in his first fight after losing his middleweight crown, as he looks to reclaim his spot at the summit of his division when he takes on JT Botha.
Fast-rising prospect Jason MacKay will be in his first card event in his third appearance in the promotion. He will look to continue his run of early finishes, as he has against his two previous opponents. He will take on Guide Moyo.
Alexander Suzuki will be looking to bounce back from his previous outing and improve his EFC record to 2-2 when he takes on Trevor Mutsila.
